Homophobe Resigns From A.S. Council

Much to the consternation of UCSD’s many NASCAR fans, Revelle Junior Senator Ashley Aluisi announced her resignation five weeks into her term. Aluisi’s term was characterized by her incredible commitment to equality and diversity in the UCSD community.

Mustering her courage to represent two of UCSD’s most marginalized communities—the racists and homophobes—Aluisi fought hard to preserve the rights of UCSD’s underrepresented white heterosexual population.

Last year, when the Associated Students passed a resolution condemning the proposed constitutional amendment that would outlaw gay marriage and civil unions in America, Ashley Aluisi was one of two senators voting "no." She was also a major force against funding the Student Initiated Outreach and Recruitment Commission.

UCSD has less than 1% African Americans in its student population. Obviously that is 1% too many.

We will miss you Ms. Aluisi. You were truly an inspiration.
