Cogan Calls it Quits: Resignations Plague A.S. Council
News
Cogan also stated that he was working on a new progressive project, currently being coordinated with "other significant progressive leaders on campus." Lord knows what that might mean: Another run for president? The real story here, though, is that 10 out of the 24 A.S. council members will be soon be brand new, and they will have been chosen by their respective college councils. Cogan's resignation accompanies three others this quarter, and the council's six freshman senator slots will be reappointed during fifth week. This is a huge chunk—nearly half—of this year's A.S. council that will not have been directly elected. This is the council that determines how to spend over $1 million of your student fees. Shouldn't its members be elected by you? Related article: Homophobe Resigns From A.S. Council Prescott Andover, Sep 30 2004, 12:16 AM« Week One Reminders | Capitalize Our Name Correctly, Bitch » |
