UCSD THREATENS TO EVICT STUDENT CO-OPS, BANS STUDENT GOVERNMENTS FROM NEGOTIATIONS

The Associated Students and the Graduate Student Association of UCSD have scheduled a public press conference in the North Conference room of the Student Center at UCSD on Monday, October 11, at 1:30 P.M., to explain the situation and current developments regarding threats by UCSD administrators toward the co-ops and student governments.

This is definitely going to be an event to keep an eye on, as up until now we've mostly been privy to second-hand information and speculation. If you're curious, we have a copy of the press release available for download as a 54 KB PDF.

(Also, are you wondering what the holy hell that little "-30-" is doing at the end of the press release? It's a symbol meant to mark the end of some text. There's more explanation about the symbol here – I've been led to believe that "learning" can be "fun," so have at it.)
