Where's the Riot?
Events Contrary to what everybody was expecting, there were no riots or violent acts on election night. In the days following there have only been token demonstrations scattered across the nation, receiving next to no media attention. This all comes as a bit of a surprise with the rather vicious tone of modern politics, but it seems that some UCSD students are trying something. Fliers have been appearing across campus, asking "Where's the riot?" and directing students to show up on the Sun God lawn this Friday at noon, wearing black. No other information. We'll keep an eye on this and see where it goes. ![]() Attention all who are disappointed that Bush has been re-elected: You lost. Get over it. Your whining is getting annoying. Bush won by 4 million popular votes. You can no longer claim he is "not your president". So kindly STFU and work harder next election to get your candidate elected. Rioting will only damage your cause. That is all. on November 4, 2004 10:02 PM
I slept right on through noon (and a couple of lectures too). What went down over at Sun God? on November 5, 2004 01:53 PM
I love being online. on November 8, 2004 02:13 AM
DOIVIO, you apparently don't know about this: Mandate schmandate. When you're calculating votes on software that a comp. sci. major could have made, you're guaranteed problems. I demand to know why the US is turning to shit companies like Diebold (whose CEO stated he would "guarantee a win" for Bush in Ohio) to do their counting. on November 9, 2004 01:55 PM
This is also very informative: on November 12, 2004 11:20 AM
