mc_battle_tn.jpgApparently complete dorkiness loosens its grip on UCSD one day a month, because there's a hip-hop battle going down at Porter's Pub this Tuesday night at 9pm—and the event organizers are approved to hold a battle a month throughout the year. Get...outta...town! One of the event organizers, Adam Gould, wrote to us saying in part, "the event is all ages even though we promote it as a 21 and up event for the purpose of maximizing potential for sales at Porter's Pub. This is our second time doing this, and the first round was a lot of fun. The master of ceremonies was praised for his crowd participation and humor."

Sounds like a bangin' good time to us. Gather any shreds of "urbanness" you may possess and check out the drink specials, the clever wordplay, and the "hip hop drunkies" promised on their flyer. I would make up a little rhyme about how fun this battle (and all the successive ones) are gonna be, but we all know I'm not nearly cool enough for that.
