Emergency Broadcast System
News

Ladies and gentlemen, please connect to StudentLink and take a look at the top of the standard menu. See that little colored triangle? That would be a part of the new UCSD Emergency Status page, with a three-color system meant to let us know exactly when there's a "campus-wide emergency, such as a strong earthquake, which overwhelms available resources and personnel, causing widespread damage and injuries." There's also a little note about how the system applies only to UCSD, and for the national terror alert level, one should check in with the Homeland Security Advisory System.

Now, it's probably a good idea to have a resource page for general emergency information, but when has a color-coded system ever helped anybody, ever? Hell, by the time the triangle goes red all of the fire and blood and screaming will have tipped most off that there's either an emergency situation or another goddamn tuition hike.
