Premature AS Election Ejaculation

Minor rumors have been floating around in circles concerning potential Associated Students presidential candidates in the upcoming spring quarter election. The rumors are trivial, since understandably, most UCSD students don't fucking care. Nonetheless, it is YouCSD.com's duty to provide these rumors a greater medium.

Currently, two of the major candidates testing the waters are AS VP Finance Kevin Hanson and AS Commissioner of Diversity Christopher Sweeten. Word is Kevin Hanson has already quietly and tacitly filled most of his cabinet positions under a greek, cultural org, athletic banner, making him the major slate presidential candidate in the upcoming election.

Christopher Sweeten, however, is eyeing an independent run. And he has only recently started laying the groundwork for spring quarter. It seems that even his supporters are worried about his progress and the viability of his potential campaign. But for now only time will tell.

Two other minor candidates...

Two other minor candidates that have the possibility of playing a role are Charles Dahan and Marshall Senior Senator Kate Pillon. Dahan is apparently still angry over being replaced by current AS President Jenn Pae on UCSD's Registration Fee Committee, losing a considerable stipend. Although not as well known as the other candidates, many expect Dahan to gain considerable support from former Steve York supporters and campus degenerates (the two not being exclusive), potentially including the likes of current College Republican President Daniel Watts. Friends of Charles Dahan's say the campaign will be given extremely heavy financial backing from his wealthy family, maybe even outspending Kevin Hanson's hefty slate. This may be interesting to some since it was Kevin Hanson who appointed Jenn Pae to replace Dahan on the Registration Fee Committee. But really, who the fuck cares.

It is unclear whether Kate Pillon might run independently or on a slate. But there are many things not clear about Kate Pillon; and frankly she is not worth mentioning any further.

Further, I've recently learned Steve York has been appointed AS Elections Manager. On a related note, the Associated Students are full of fucking morons.

What does it take to run for AS president?
I propose to run on the "STOP the AS from spending my money" platform. That is all I will do- press resolutions to give refunds to students for the AS fees and stall any kind of spending items. Hrmm, what should the party name be ---- "Stop AS Spending and refund AS fees party". Heck with a name like that all that one needs is to be on the ballot.

no reading of daniel watts' staged coup? tisk, you know it's like him to stay just to run again… and charles dahan, who? lol… oh, and kate pillon's the junior senator, not to be confused with the much cooler kate maull who's senior senator.
