For just over one month now, I've been happily sitting on the knowledge that YouCSD.com is in the clear with university officials. There exists no good explanation why I haven't announced this sooner, but I'm going to casually mention my crippling priapism as a possible candidate.

Ann Parode, the legal attack dog who first came nipping at our heels, emailed me after several weeks of silence to bury the hatchet as incompletely as any good lawyer knows how.

... So, as long as your content remains as mindless as it was last time I went there, and the Library image is off of the site such that there is no likelihood that anyone would consider your site to be an official UCSD site or otherwise endorsed, I plan to take no further action on this matter....

To make a point, let me repeat some of what she said with a bit of my own inflection. "As long as your content remains as mindless as it was last time I went there ... such that there is no likelihood that anyone would consider your site to be an official UCSD site..." Do you SEE that?! That, my friends, is a mandate to swear. Ann, I hope we make you proud.

Mindless must be a very technical legal term. I bet she scored great on her LSATs, and that's why she works for a university going after some blog for vague copyright infringement instead of making six figures! Great job at life, Ann!
